69. Healing Means To Make Whole

Did you know that the old English meaning of the word heal is ‘to make whole’? I LOVE this! I like to look up the meanings of words and the old derivations because it can bring up some profound truths and wonderful wisdom.

💫 WE ARE REASSEMBLING

We’re taking the pieces and putting them back together. Perhaps there are even gaps to fill. Though, I do believe we were born in complete wholeness and life split us into pieces. So, it’s not that we have gaps, we just have pieces that may have gotten lost.

So, what exactly are we reassembling? All the parts of us that we have not yet embraced. And perhaps have even rejected.

The pain we push down inside.
 The insecurities we cover up.
 The sadness we numb.
 The anger we repress.
 The opinions we hide.
 The shame we disguise.
 The unworthiness we keep secret.
 The past we run from.

BUT IT’S NOT ALL TOUGH STUFF, IT’S THIS STUFF TOO:

The amazing dreams in our heart which we don’t follow.
The compliments we want to give but keep in our heads.
The tears of happiness that we might be too cool to show.
The eccentric dress sense that we are embarrassed to express.
The great ideas that we dismiss.
The talents we have that we don’t use.
The love we feel that we are afraid to express.

😍 ALL OF IT IS YOU

And to welcome it all in, is to be whole. To heal.

💪 AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

Ok, that will be lost on you if you’re not an Avengers fan!! The Avengers are a group of super heros who assemble together and become a mighty force! We could even look at ourselves like that! Each emotion – whether painful or pleasurable, each idea and dream, each opinion and desire, each expression and experience – only when all of these assemble, do we become a mighty force.

🙌 SO COME ON SUPER HEROS – ASSEMBLE!

Those parts you rejected? Invite them in. Those parts you fear? Love them. Those parts you repressed? Express them.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, we reassemble.

We become whole.

We heal.

🙏
